Kaufering, April 2019 – At bauma 2019 in Munich, Hilti demonstrated the latest generation of its DST wall saw, featuring fully integrated control electronics and significantly increased productivity: the DST 20-CA diamond wall saw.

The new DST 20-CA electric diamond wall saw from Hilti is extremely compact and easy to handle. As the world’s first 32A electric high-frequency wall saw, it weighs approximately 60 percent less, has a maximum cutting depth of up to 73 cm with a 1600 mm blade, and comes with integrated electronics. The DST 20-CA diamond saw does not require an external electrical box, thus reducing the risk of cable breakage and simplifying the work process.

Hands and mind free

The cutting process is optimized by an integrated CutAssist system, which ensures a 15 percent higher cutting speed. The user only needs to set the necessary parameters, press the start button, and the Hilti DST 20-CA begins its work. This keeps the user’s hands free, allowing them to perform other tasks in parallel, such as preparing the next work steps. This saves time and makes diamond sawing operations significantly more efficient. The remote control, operating on the 2400 MHz band with frequency hopping technology and a range of approximately 20 meters, displays the cutting depth in real time on the display.

Fast setup and configuration

Thanks to the elimination of an additional electrical box, the low weight, and improved ergonomics, the wall saw can be set up quickly. Long setup and transport times are eliminated, allowing the user to begin diamond sawing quickly. The vibration-optimized DST 20-CA wall saw impresses with its performance. Compared to the DS-TS 20-E wall saw, it delivers 30 percent more power and 200 percent more torque. As a result, the saw can be used in a wide range of applications: cutting openings and penetrations in concrete, demolishing walls and floors, separating and cutting artificial or natural stone, and even cutting heavily reinforced concrete – all of which can be easily accomplished with the new wall saw, even in hard-to-reach areas.
