The machine has been in service for many years. The ZFWZ 5000 comes from Modul's Chemnitz gear machine construction division and is completely overhauled and delivered with a Siemens Sinumerik ONE control system by Serwema Retrofit Solutions, the company that holds the Modul design archive. Proven kinematics, new electrical components, new drives, and new safety technology: you get the performance of a new machine at a fraction of the price and with a delivery time of twelve months.

The machine mills external gears, both straight-toothed and helical, up to module 40 using the hobbing process and up to module 50 using the single-indexing method. With the internal milling attachment, internal gears are produced for gear rings for large rolling bearings, rotary couplings, and planetary hollow gears, as required in wind power, mining, crane, and shipbuilding technology. Workpieces with a diameter of up to 5000 mm can be accommodated on the 4000 mm table. The milling head pivots by ±45°, and the 82 kW drive power at the milling head allows for both roughing with high material removal rates and finishing with precision.

The machine is delivered with a new Siemens Sinumerik ONE control system and Sinamics S120 drives, the latest Siemens generation with full spare parts and support availability, in a climate-controlled switch cabinet manufactured in-house. The user-friendly interface makes setup and programming possible without requiring in-depth G-code knowledge. Geometry acceptance is performed according to manufacturer's standards or DIN standards with a protocol, jointly with you in Chemnitz. The scope of supply also includes a machine safety fence with state-of-the-art safety technology, a new paint finish in RAL 5015/7035, a magnetic chip conveyor, circulation and loss-lubrication systems, a hydraulic unit, a coolant system, and the operating manual.
