The supporting structure consists of a particularly strong monolithic steel base, ribbed and very robust. The extra-wide support was specifically designed to give the machine stability and ensure constant precision in all working conditions. The machine does not require anchoring to the floor. The base forms a large and solid support for the mobile column: the work unit is equipped with a balanced, stable and resistant support that withstands the greatest stresses and thus ensures superior performance and greater precision. The mobile gantry consists of a solid single piece anchored to the base and slides along prismatic guides with top-quality ball return slides. The work unit is attached to it and moves along Y and Z axes, also on prismatic guides with ball return slides. The movement of the lower moving unit (X-axis) and the working unit along the crosshead of the moving unit (Y-axis) is achieved thanks to power transmission via a rack and pinion with helical teeth. This creates a greater tooth-to-tooth thrust, resulting in greater acceleration and higher speed along the X and Y axes. The specially designed helical gearing ensures reduced wear on the mechanical components and quieter operation. The vertical Z-axis is driven by a ball-return screw, which ensures perfect balance under dynamic loading and withstands sudden accelerations and decelerations. The main milling unit is directly coupled to the Z-axis carriage, ensuring very high-quality finishing due to the complete absence of vibration. Movement along the X-Y-Z axes is achieved by brushless motors powered by static inverters.
