Automatic functions at switch‑on: self‑test and calibration. The instrument calibrates itself on

Lamp / filter switching: Automatic lamp and filter selection coupled to the wavelength chosen. For example, if you select a UV wavelength, it will switch in the deuterium lamp; if you stay in visible, that lamp can be turned off to save life.

Absorbance Zero and 100% Transmission setting: Zeroing via button, both at absorbance zero (0 A) and full transmission (100 %T) automatically or by pressing buttons.

“Peak Seek”: It has a function for automatically finding peaks, with baseline flattening. Useful for scanning spectra.

RS‑232C Interface: There is a serial interface for connecting to a PC or printer in many units
