The industrial Marcelissen SHC (Compact Hydro Cutter) is an advanced line designed for hydromechanical, continuous cutting of potatoes and other root vegetables (carrots, beets) into fries, sticks, wedges, and slices. The operating principle is based on the use of a water jet as a pressure medium: the product placed in a buffer tank is drawn in and accelerated in a closed pipe system, and then passes through a stationary knife block under high pressure.
Thanks to the hydraulic guidance of the raw material in the pressure channel, the product hits the knives perfectly axially, which eliminates mechanical damage and cracking of the fries, guaranteeing a uniform, smooth cross-section and maximum yield. The device is ideal for large fruit and vegetable processing plants, french fry factories, frozen food factories, as well as established butcher shops and catering companies that produce ready-to-eat products.
The well-thought-out, modular compact design ensures that the line occupies less than 7.5 m² of floor space while maintaining a very high capacity of up to 10 tons per hour. The quick-change system for knife cassettes allows the machine to be reconfigured for a different cutting format in less than a minute, which minimizes production downtime.
