The precast concrete segments of the container and the substructure are made of concrete with a strength class of B45 (equivalent to today's C35/45).
The silo contents (wood chip heating system) were damaged by a fire in March 2025.

A joint expert report from the insurance company and the policyholder came to the following conclusion:

- The reinforced concrete structure is statically sound with no significant fire damage.
- No impairment of the load-bearing capacity of the silo walls.
- No significant damage to the concrete precast elements.
